Burnett Deputy receives Life-Saving Award
A Burnett County Deputy was honored for his life-saving work. On Wednesday, September 25, Deputy Noah Barker responded to help a seven-month-old who was choking.
The Sheriff’s Office says Barker acted quickly, he depressed the child’s tongue and removed a large round piece of plastic from the back of the baby’s throat. Afterward, the baby could breathe normally.
His Letter of Commendation from Sheriff Trach Finch expressed gratitude, saying in part, “Without your quick and calm response, coupled with training, this child could been seriously injured or worse. For your heroic actions, you are being presented with the Life-Saving Award.”
