UMD football drops heartbreaker on the road
UMD football was one play away from beating Augustana, but a dropped touchdown pass shattered those dreams, as the Bulldogs fell 28-24.
UMD had a perfect opportunity to win the game, with just three seconds left and in the red zone, but Kyle Walljaspers pass to Sam Pitz was ultimately dropped, resulting in the loss.
Walljasper threw for 231 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another, and Ryder Patterson tacked on another score on the ground.
The Bulldogs defense allowed a touchdown with just 56 seconds left in the game though, putting them in the position to need a touchdown on the last drive.
The 3-2 Bulldogs will look to bounce back against Northern State next Saturday at home.
