Suspect arrested in Superior Homicide

Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to a homicide that happened Sunday evening in Superior.

Authorities responded around 9:20 p.m. to the 2400 block of Ogden Avenue. A caller said that a man they knew was walking around their garage and shining a flashlight in the windows.

As officers arrived, they heard gunshots. They approached the garage and found a man lying on the floor with gunshot wounds. The caller was there trying to to help. Officers say the victim was shot multiple times and died from these injuries.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene and was apprehended hours later at an Iron River, Wisconsin residence. The Superior Police Department Emergency Response Team, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office responded.

Superior Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
