Tech Bytes: Comcast suffers major data breach

A ransomware attack exposes the data of over 230,000 Comcast customers, with personal information dating back to 2021. A judge rules that Google must allow the easier development of separate app stores other than Google's Play Store. Apple showcases their first immersive film that will be viewable on the Apple Vision Pro, having viewers experiencing a torpedo attack in a WWII-era submarine.

Comcast customers were hit by a data breach. A ransomware attack at a debt collection agency exposed the personal information of over 230,000 customers. Comcast says the information dates back to 2021 and is offering identity theft protection to those affected.

A legal defeat for Google: a judge has ordered the company to make it easier for app-store developers to compete with Google’s Play Store on devices using Android software. The Fortnite maker accused Google of anti-competitive practices. Google plans to appeal the ruling.

Finally, Apple has unveiled the trailer for its first scripted video on the Vision Pro. “Submerged” takes viewers into a World War II submarine during a torpedo attack. The immersive film is directed by Edward Berger, who also directed “All Quiet on the Western Front.” It will be available for Vision Pro users on Thursday.
