October 14: Crispy and cool

A brisk start to the week with temperatures in the mid 40s and evening showers and flakes expected across the Arrowhead and the South Shore.

Today will be chilly with winds coming in from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Rain and flakes continue on and off in the early morning and again later this evening. In total, about a half an inch of precipitation can be expected with most of the accumulation along the South Shore.

Rain continues to cross the lake this afternoon from northern Minnesota to the UP, the light showers will last through early Tuesday morning.  Chance for some isolated thunderstorms and waterspouts along the South Shore as lake effect rain picks up momentum across Lake Superior.

Temperatures for the week will start off in the 40s but slowly increase to the mid-60s by Friday. The middle of the week will remain dry, but cloud coverage and chances for more precipitation will move in for the weekend.

Showers likely, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 31. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
