As the recovery efforts from the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton continue, folks in the Northland are stepping up to help.

Currently, Outlast Construction has employees on the ground in North Carolina who brought with them a truckload of donations.

Outlast has been in contact with Biltmore Church to find out what was in the shortest supply. These included things like generators, chainsaws, and gas cans says Ronald Prophit, who works for Outlast.

“Those are some of the items they request that they needed kind of right away, things that they really couldn’t wait till next week. We just decided to pack them up in a pickup truck and drive on down and get them down here to, to the folks that need them down here.” Said Prophit, speaking to WDIO in a phone interview.

Outlast put out the call for donations, and the community responded, with both businesses and individuals dropping off numerous chainsaws, generators, and other equipment for the group to bring down to North Carolina.

In addition, Outlast Construction is currently working to fill a trailer full of items to bring to disaster victims, such as clothing and blankets.

“From the smallest thing, anything, anything helps you know from a pair of socks to brush to non perishable food items, sleeping bags I mean it’s it’s any and everything that we can get down here to help these folks they are they’re willing to take it.” said Prophit. Equipment like generators, chainsaws and shop-vacs are still in short supply.

Outlast Construction is still currently accepting donations. They can be dropped off 7 days per week from 8 to 4 at their Duluth office located at 2521 Miller Trunk Highway.
