Lea Zmurko: Sunny afternoons, but very cool nights.

October 15: The start of a warming trend

Temperatures will climb into the mid 60s throughout the rest of the week as dry and breezy weather persists.

A few lake-effect showers move across the Bayfield Peninsula in the early morning, leaving some mixed precipitation in a few areas along the South Shore with overnight lows below freezing.

Today will remain dry with winds continuing from the north at 5-10 mph. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s and low 50s further west near Brainerd Lakes and Hinckley as the sunny skies persist.

Temperatures will drop again tonight, and some places will drop into the teens across Koochiching County. The breezy conditions will continue as wind speeds elevate and the temperatures continue to climb into the low 60s. The middle of this week will be dry, and breezy as the risk for near-critical fire weather returns as the chances for rain continue to diminish.
