Both Cloquet/Esko/Carlton and Duluth Marshall defended their section titles on Tuesday night in penalty kicks, with CEC taking down Hermantown 3-2 for their fourth straight Section 7AA title, while Duluth Marshall repeat as Section 7A champions, winning 1-0 in penalty kicks.

The Lumberjacks got out to a hot start when Collin Young found the back of the net in the first half, but Hermantown would answer back in the second half. The Lumberjacks then relied on Hudson Snesrud, who scored to go up 2-1, although Hermantown would claw their way back and force overtime, where no goals were scored.

For Duluth Marshall, penalty kicks was also the method of victory, as the Hilltoppers handed Legacy Christian Academy their first loss of the entire season.

State tournament matchups and brackets will be announced this weekend on the MSHSL website.
