Lea Zmurko: Still breezy across the Northland

October 17: Windy with a warm up

It is a windy afternoon as the southerly flow brings in more warm, dry air, and temperatures will reach the mid 60s this afternoon.

Another afternoon to enjoy widespread sunshine as temperatures will reach the upper 50s and low 60s. Sky coverage will clear, but the winds will intensify as gust reach upwards of 30 mph.

Low relative humidity and high winds put most of the Northland under critical fire weather conditions. The Red Flag Warning is in place for the majority of Minnesota through 7PM tonight.

With persistent dry and breezy weather, we are awaiting significant rainfall to provide us enough relief. There is a chance for some rain tomorrow night, but rain accumulation will remain at less than a quarter of an inch. The light rain will move eastward across the Northland and clear by Saturday.  There will be another round of light rain at the start of next week on Monday night, otherwise the region remains dry.
