Avid hunters took to the fields on Saturday as Wisconsin’s 2024 pheasant hunting season began.

Northwest Outlet in Superior began stocking upland hunting gear and apparel prior to the 2024 season and has seen success in sales.

“Having the upland stuff this year, I’m noticing a lot more people not necessarily coming and looking for it, but when they see it, they grab a vest, or they grab a jacket. So, it’s just nice to have things here that catches people’s attention and gets them thinking about getting out and having fun,” said Scott Miller, manager at Northwest Outlet.

Even though Miller has not seen a prevalence of traditional pheasant hunters taking to local northland fields, he has seen locals making their way down towards southern Wisconsin and Minnesota during the season.

The Wisconsin Pheasant season runs from October 19th to January 5th, 2025. Opening weekend’s individual limit is one rooster per person, the limit increases to two roosters per person on Monday, October 21st.
