One injured in Iron Range ATV crash
Authorities from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATV accident in Alango Township on the evening of October 19.
According to eyewitnesses, the operator of the ATV, a man, approximately 50 years old, was travelling around 30 mph when a deer ran in front of his vehicle. The ATV then flipped and threw the driver off into the middle of the road.
Reports say the driver was not wearing a helmet during the time of the accident. He was airlifted to a Duluth hospital to be treated for injuries.
Responding agencies include the t. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Cook Ambulance and Virginia Ambulance services, Lifelink Helicopter, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota DNR and U.S. Forest Service Law enforcement division.
