Take a look around your own local community and see if there is a need for helping homeless veterans. The odds are if you live in a city there are veterans who need help finding stable housing and other resources.
The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans held their Resource Fair at the Tribute Fest today. The Tribute Fest was organized to raise money and awareness for homeless Vets and to honor those who have served in the Military, Americans and Canadians along with those who are currently serving and their families.
The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is an NGO that has been serving veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless across the state of Minnesota for over 25 years.
The event is held at Bayfront Outdoor Music Park in Duluth and will continue onto Saturday, August 27th. With music from various Tribute Bands on the Main Stage and on the Bent Paddle Stage.
Every Vet, Active Duty, and their families get into the show no cost. In addition, this year The Tribute Fest and the Irving Community Club have set up the Irving Community Club Café where any Veteran, Active Duty , and their families can eat, snack and enjoy all day long free of charge.
