Duluth Marshall boys soccer talks thrilling section final, state tournament outlook

The Duluth Marshall boys soccer team is one of five Northland teams that will make their mark on the state tournament next week.

The Hilltoppers win to get there was nothing short of magical; a penalty kick win over Legacy Christian Academy, a team that hadn’t lost a game the entire season before Duluth Marshall marched onto their pitch and took them down.

“Yeah, for like the last four minutes of overtime, I wasn’t really even thinking about the game, I was just completely focused on pens. We went to pens and I felt confident, I knew our team is gonna pull through,” said Thomas Falgier, the Hilltoppers goaltender.

“I think what clicked is everyone getting on the same page and the lack of individualism. Everyone is here for each other and we want to win for each other and we want to pick each other up and I just think that was the most important part for us is just to come together,” shared Briar Mrozik, a senior striker.

Duluth Marshall will take on St. Cloud Cathedral on Thursday at 7:30, that will take place at Monticello High School.
