Duluth East High school is one of the few school's to get the rights to Hadestown: Teen Edition, and the students say it's a blast to be working on it.

Duluth East High School is opening their production of Hadestown: Teen Edition This Thursday through Sunday.

The high school theatre department is one of the few across the country that were able to get the rights to perform the show, as it’s very new and still on Broadway.

Sofia Salmela and Brayden Miller play two of the leads in the show. Sofia says even though this is a teen edition, there were barely any cuts made so it feels like they’ve been doing the full version of the show.

She points out the choreography as something that the teen cast has been working really hard at. “It’s like a beast of a show, it’s like a full Broadway show,” she says.
