Justin Liles: Tracking some rain and even some snow

October 22nd: A bit chilly Wednesday

A bit chilly Wednesday

Today was another warm day as winds picked up out of the south bringing in above average temperatures and moisture. A cold front will continue to slide across the region through the evening and help to develop some much-needed rain throughout the Northland. Most of the region will likely just see a light dampening of the ground with closer to a quarter to one-half inch along and north of the Iron Range. Early morning wrap around moisture from the departing low may lead to some light snow and rain. The likeliest of spots will be the Arrowhead which includes parts of eastern St. Louis County along with Lake and Cook Counties.

Winds will increase out of the northwest and temperatures will decrease for coldest day of the week on Wednesday with most areas seeing temperatures in the 40s around the region. Winds will pick up through the afternoon hours Wednesday and could gust over 30 mph. Winds will turn over to the south on Thursday and warm to near 60°F again. Another chance for showers will be Thursday night, with up to a half inch of rainfall possible. The weekend looks ideal with temperatures climbing into the 50s with plenty of sunshine.
