Celebrate expansion at Canelake’s Candies with some fudge fun on Saturday

Public invited to see expanded kitchen at Canelake’s Candies

A new, expanded kitchen space for Canelake's Candies in Virginia, and you're invited to see it.

Canelake’s Candies in Virginia continues to expand the sweetness.

They have new, larger kitchen. It used to be the back of the Arrowhead Bar.

It means they have more work room and storage space. Their 30 foot chocolate dipping station sits right in the middle.

And in Canelake fashion, it’s decorated to fit the vibe. “We tried to make it fun, with I Love Lucy decor,” explained Pamela Canelake Matson. Her sister, Patricia Canelake, did the art.

Saturday from 11am-3pm you can pack a free mini box of fudge on a moving belt.

Just like that 1952 episode of I Love Lucy where she and Ethel work in a chocolate factory.

In addition to the free fudge packing, prizes will be awarded to packers with a winning mark on their box. Participants can also take photos with a large I Love Lucy Art display.

Dennis Matson added that you can check out old fashioned candy making machines, and check out the photographs from years past of the Canelake legacy.

Canelake’s is the oldest candy store in Minnesota, having opened in 1905.
