Both Northwestern and Northwood/Solon Springs football were victorious on Friday night in their round one playoff games. Northwestern beat Colby 40-6, while Northwood/Solon Springs took down Hurley 54-28.

In Division 5, Northwestern struggled to find the end zone early on, but managed to put up 16 first half points against a good defensive Colby team. In the second half though, the Tigers blew the doors open and scored 24 points to put the game away. The Tigers next take on Stanley-Boyd on Friday. For their bracket, click here.

In 8-Man, Northwood/Solon Springs put on an offensive display, scoring 54 points, including three touchdowns in the first quarter. Northwood/Solon Springs turns to face either 2 seeded Siren or three seeded Clayton, and their bracket can be found here.
