Northwestern's Lawton wins Heart O' North Offensive Player of the Year
Cooper Lawton of Northwestern High School was named the Heart O’ North Conference Offensive Player of the Year on Sunday.
Lawton was good for 1,314 yards on the ground, 131 rushing yards per game, and 14 touchdowns, all in 10 games. Lawton’s best game came in early October against Ashland, when he ran for 229 yards and three touchdowns.
UMD football fans certainly have something to look forward to next year with Lawton’s commitment to the Bulldogs.
Northwestern continues their journey to the state tournament on Friday when they host Stanley-Boyd.
