Lea Zmurko: The wild weather will start today with rain arriving this evening.
The temperature gradient remains sharp across the Northland with upper 60s and low 70s across northern Wisconsin but sticking to the low 60s near the Twin Ports and then north of the Iron range we will see a few 50s by this afternoon.
Chance for strong storms tonight as risk for severe weather has decreased, but rain is still likely to start up across northeastern Minnesota this afternoon. The embedded thunderstorms can still be come strong systems with small hail and damaging winds, but risks continue to diminish.
By Wednesday night the Northland will see an increase in show shower potential as temperatures fall overnight and stay favorable for flakes Thursday morning. Most of the snow is likely across northern Minnesota as 0.5-2” is forecasted across the North Shore and the Iron Range, but a wintery mix will stretch into northwestern Wisconsin.
It will be chilly for the door-to-door trick or treating temperatures will fall into the 30s in the evening and continue to drop overnight.
The weekend temperatures will bump up into the fifties and there will likely be on and off showers in the late afternoon and evening into next week.
