Pete Johnson wins Minnesota House District 8A
Duluth Firefighter Pete Johnson (DFL) has won the seat for Minnesota House District 8A, defeating Republican Mark McGrew.
8A, which covers most of West Duluth and Downtown, has had a vacant seat since July, when four-term incumbent Rep. Liz Olson (DFL) announced she’d step down to work for a non-profit.
Johnson’s website lists priorities such as access to healthcare and education, housing availability, as well as worker’s rights.
In August, Pete Johnson beat out consultant Jordon Johnson in the DFL primary, while McGrew ran unopposed.
