Lea Zmurko: Starting the weekend with sun, ending in scattered showers
More sunshine across the Northland today as skies clear in the early morning. High pressure remains overhead keeping conditions clear for just a little longer. Temperatures will reach the upper forties and low fifties for some as they remain above normal as we move into the upcoming week.
Tonight will be cool with clear skies and light winds as many spots will fall into the upper 20s across northeast MN including the Iron Range.
Light rain will start Saturday afternoon and last through the night before clearing on Sunday as the last round of scattered showers clear out. Rainfall amounts will remain under a quarter of an inch across the Northland by Sunday night. As temperatures drop overnight some rain could likely switch to light snowflakes across Northern Minnesota.
The start of next week will be breezy and partly sunny, but there will be another chance for rain on Tuesday night that will bring showers across the region through Wednesday.
