UWS volleyball takes down Morris in semifinals, advances to UMAC championship
On Wednesday night the No. 2 University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) volleyball team defeated the No. 3 University of Minnesota, Morris 3-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) semifinals in Superior.
UWS won sets one and two 25-22 and 25-15, but dropped set three 18-25. They came back to win set four 25-15 and claim the semifinal 3-1. Throughout the four sets the Yellowjackets were led by Jenna Anderson with 42 digs, Colleen Claude and Gabi Schwirtz with 21 assists each, and Makenna Hohbein with 13 kills.
UWS (24-7) advances to the UMAC championship game against the No. 1 University of Northwestern (23-8). The match will be played in Northwestern Saturday, November 16 at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the NCAA DIII tournament. For the UMAC tournament hub, click here.
