Lea Zmurko: Fighting through the fog

November 15: Quiet weather for the weekend

Starting the morning with widespread fog across the Northland and eventually seeing some more sunshine and temperatures in the mid 40s.

Quiet conditions have led to areas of dense fog building in the morning, and a dense fog advisory remains in place across the Northland until 10 this morning. The Northland is seeing reduced visibility across Brainerd Lakes region eastward to the I-35 corridor and northward to the Borderlands. Visibility is less than a mile for many so make sure to give yourself plenty of time as you head out the door.

Friday afternoon will remain mostly sunny with some broken cloud coverage clearing out. Stratus clouds and some fog is expected to return tonight. The start of the weekend will also be dry as temperatures continue to stay in the upper forties and a few low fifties across northern Wisconsin.

There is a chance of light rain showers late Saturday into Sunday morning in the far northern parts of the Arrowhead and north-central Wisconsin. More precipitation is expected starting on Tuesday afternoon starting as rain, but as the low-pressure system progresses more snowfall is anticipated. The timing and precipitation accumulation remains uncertain as the storms track is still unclear this early on.
