Superior men bring home the hardware from Broomball World Championships

Squall USA are Broomball World Champions. The team brought home the hardware last month from France.

And two of the team members are from Superior.

Aiden Bachand and Blake Hanson grew up playing sports together.

Broomball, which is a combination of skills learned in hockey, lacrosse, and soccer, is a great fit for them.

As for the competition in France, Bachand said, “It was an adjustment, with the altitude difference, but it was a really cool experience.”

“They definitely had some talented people there,” Hanson added. “But our legs carried us through, and I think we were more conditioned.”

There is a men’s league on Sundays at Wessman Arena in Superior. They are always looking for more members.
