Sabrina Ullman: Windy and relatively warm Saturday
Today will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Winds will pick up speed by the afternoon, reaching 10-20 mph.
There is a chance of light rain late tonight into early Sunday morning. Sprinkles will stay near the international border, and less than a tenth of an inch of accumulation is expected.
Sunday will be cloudy in the morning but sunny by the early afternoon. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler, only reaching the low to mid-40s.
The next chance of rain will be Monday night. A strong low-pressure system will form near the panhandle of Texas and head toward the Upper Midwest. There is forecast confidence that we will get rain in the Northland Monday night into Tuesday.
After that, the track of the low-pressure system is not certain currently. If we see it slow down and head our way, this could mean heavy snow Wednesday to Thursday if it gets cold enough in time. There is also a chance of dry air entering the region around the same time, which would lower our chances for precipitation.
