UW-Superior men’s hockey claims Bridge Battle victory over CSS
The College of St. Scholastica men’s hockey team hosted the University of Wisconsin-Superior in a Bridge Battle matchup at Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth on Friday night.
The Saints and Yellowjackets met in October for an exhibition battle, where the Saints took the win 4-2. Friday night, the Yellowjackets would exact their revenge, winning 2-1.
CSS scored first in the second period, on a power-play Braden Panzer took a deep shot that put the Saints up 1-0. UWS’s Evan Axell scored late in the second period to tie things at 1-1. The Yellowjackets took the win at the end of the third period with a goal by Justin Dauphinais.
CSS goalie Eino Rissanen made 36 total saves, allowing 2 goals. UWS goalie Jack Boschert made 29 total saves, allowing 1 goal.
The Saints will return on November 16th to battle Northland College, the game will begin at 7PM at the Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth.
