One deceased in early morning crash on West Skyline Parkway
Saturday morning at 1:15AM, the Duluth Police Department responded to the 5000 block of West Skyline Parkway to investigate the report of an upside vehicle that was on fire.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle 30 feet away from the roadway and used extinguishers to put out the fire near the front half of the vehicle.
The single male occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of his family.
This is an ongoing investigation, though speed is believed to be a major factor in the driver’s inability to navigate a curve on the road – causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash.
Minnesota State Patrol assisted the Duluth Police Department with the investigation.
