Justin Liles: Cooler temperatures to stick around

November 21st: Drier to end the week

Drier to end the week

Strong early morning winds will weaken some tonight but still be blustery out of the Northwest. Stronger lake-effect showers will affect northwest Wisconsin overnight. These will be rain showers. Temperatures will trend cooler over the next few days. We should see a few days of quiet weather Friday and Saturday, before chances of precipitation return through the day Sunday. A rain/snow mix is possible Sunday into Monday.

An incoming clipper is forecast to pass through southern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario beginning Sunday morning. This is when snow shower chances begin to increase for northern Minnesota. By Sunday evening and overnight, there is a general 20-50% chance of 1″ of snowfall for the Northland. The better chances are along and north of US Highway 2. As the clipper exits east of the area Monday, South Shore snowbelt lake effect snow showers produce another round of light snow potential for those locations in northwest Wisconsin.

Let’s not forget that this weekend is the start of Wisconsin firearms deer season.
