UMD women's basketball looks to find their identity in non-conference closing games

Sitting 1-2 in non-conference play, the University of Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team is still searching for their team identity.

“We don’t know who we are yet. It’s so early and the teams that we’ve been playing are so different. And the NSIC is a tough league, so we don’t really know who we are quite yet as a program,” said UMD women’s basketball head coach Mandy Pearson.

The Bulldogs hope to find a groove in their final weekend of non-conference play against Northern Michigan on Saturday and Michigan Tech on Sunday.

“I think as we continue playing more games, we get better at more things. There’s a lot of things that we learn, like I said, playing in those first two games. So just getting better at the things we need to work on, continuing to do those things will really help us as we continue on with the season,” said freshman shooting guard Claire Bjorge.

The Bulldogs will face Northern Michigan on Saturday, November 23rd at 12PM at the Romano Gym. They will then play Michigan Tech on Sunday, November 24th at 12PM.
