Thompson powers UMD men's basketball to fifth straight win
Saturday was the Mattie Thompson show for UMD men’s basketball, as the Duluth native’s 22 points powered the Bulldogs past Northern Michigan for a 79-67 win.
Thompson caught fire in the first half, especially from three point land, as he finished shooting 6-10 from behind the arc.
Thompson’s hot shooting proved to be contagious, as UMD as a team registered a 45% field goal percentage.
The Bulldogs now sit at 5-0 and will look to make it a sixth straight against Lake Superior College on Tuesday with a tipoff at 1 p.m.
