Chum continues annual Thanksgiving Box Giveaway
Duluth’s Chum food shelf plans to hand out 300 Thanksgiving meal boxes to families who are in need this holiday season.
Boxes, given out for free on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations or sign-ups required, are packed with traditional Thanksgiving foods. This includes Turkey, stuffing, potatoes and more.
“We do this so that everyone in our community can enjoy this meal that brings us close to our friends and family.” Bradley Zwagerman, Chum’s Director of Communications and Marketing said in a release.
The boxes will be distributed on two separate days during the week of Thanksgiving.
On Monday, November 25, 100 boxes will be handed out at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 4831 Grand Ave. in Duluth. The Church will open at 9:30 a.m., and the boxes will be given out beginning at 10 a.m.
On Wednesday, November 27, the remaining 200 boxes will be distributed at Chum’s Food Shelf located at 120 N 1st Ave. W in downtown Duluth. There, boxes will be handed out beginning at 10 a.m.
With a limited number of boxes handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, Chum recommends showing up early.
