UMD women's basketball claims first home victory of season
The UMD women’s basketball team was resilient on Sunday, taking down Northern Michigan in the late stages of the game to claim their first home victory of the season, 71-67.
Claire Bjorge knocked down a pair of free throws with just three seconds left to put the Bulldogs ahead of the Huskies, and iced the game seconds later with two more free throws.
Bjorge was the team leader in points with 17, but three other Bulldogs also scored double figures, including Lexi Karen who contributed with 13.
The Bulldogs look to make it two wins in a row when they take on Minnesota State Mankato on Tuesday, with tipoff at 5:30 p.m.
