Lea Zmurko: Chilly for any holiday travel plans

November 27: A chilly travel day

It is another chilly day for the Northland as temperatures continue to fall. Winds from the northwest remain favorable for lake effect snow across.

Cold air continues across the Northland as temperatures stay in the mid-20s. Some flurries will be spotted in the early morning as light snow is expected to continue through the week.

Some inland lake effect snow showers are expected to bring 2-4 additional inches to the Borderlands and parts of far northern Minnesota over the next two days. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place for northern portions of St Louis County as holiday travel may remain impacted from the consistent snow and gusty conditions.

As for the South Shore, lake effect snow will continue across Lake Superior over the weekend as temperatures continue to drop. If the winds continue the northwesterly flow, between 4-8 inches can be expected in some localized areas across Iron County from today to Friday.
