Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office need help identifying arson suspect

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, is actively investigating a series of six suspected arson fires. The Wisconsin Department of Justice, and the Division of Criminal Investigation State Fire Marshal’s Office are also collaborating investigative efforts too. Since November 18, 2024, the six suspected arson fires have occurred in the Radisson, Exeland and Birchwood areas of Sawyer County.

There’s surveillance footage being released regarding the suspect in these arson-related fires. The hope is that with the released video the public can help recognize the suspected arson or have information related to the investigation.

“We are committed to protecting our community and bringing those responsible for these dangerous acts to justice,” said Sheriff Doug Mrotek. “We urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward.”
