Duluth public servants recognized by local clubs
The Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club 25 Duluth came together to recognize the Duluth Police Department Officer of the Year and the Duluth Fire Department Firefighter of the Year.
At a ceremony on Wednesday, November 27, Officer Dana Letica and Fire Captain Bob Mielke were celebrated for their dedicated work in service to the community.
“The recipients of these two awards are chosen by their respective peers within their departments,” explained Kiwanis of Duluth President Cyndi Lewis. “The Duluth Police Department selects the officer who best exemplifies the values, work, and dedication of the department. Likewise, the Duluth Fire Department internally selects the firefighter who best represents all the values, character, and work ethic of the department.”
Lewis continued that the two clubs were proud to come together to recognize the accomplishments of Letica and Mielke.
