Hermantown boys hockey skates to tie in season opener

Hermantown boys hockey couldn’t begin their 2024-2025 campaign off with a win or a loss, as they tied Cretin-Derham Hall, 4-4 in overtime.

The Hawks found themselves down 2-0 in the early stages of the first period, but quickly were back in the game thanks to a pair of goals from Jack Slattengren and River Freeman to end the period 2-2.

The Hawks and Raiders went back and forth leading to a 4-4 tie,

Hermantown takes on Hill-Murray on Saturday with a 3 p.m. puck drop.
