Family safe, thousands in damages after Superior Township Fire
The Town of Superior Fire Department, along with support, cleared a fire Sunday evening, December 1, on the 4900 block of Finn Road. All occupants were able to safely get out of the building, but one person was evaluated for smoke exposure.
The first units arrived on scene to the home fully engulfed in flames shortly before 9:00 p.m. that evening. The scene was cleared at 1:00 a.m. that morning.
According to Fire Chief Darryl Fiegle there were an estimated $60,000 in damages.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Town of Superior Fire Department was supported by the Parkland, Oakland, and Summit fire departments. Mayo Clinic Ambulance, Douglas County Highway and East Central Energy also assisted.
