The cast has to pull of a hard objective, making magic feel real on stage. A task made look easy by this show’s Spotlight Artist Lacy Sauter who plays Marie.

The story of Cinderella is one that’s stuck with Lacy since she was a little girl. “I would play dress ups and do the whole show in my living room,” she says, “and the Rochester and Hammerstein music is just my favorite, I love it.”

As Marie, or who the characters call “Crazy Marie”, Lacy has a big quick change to turn into the beautiful Fairy Godmother. “Spoiler Alert,” says Lacy.

“I don’t know if people are expecting it, because they’re probably like, ‘who is this crazy Marie character? Where’s the fairy godmother? Why isn’t there a character named fairy godmother?'”

And seeing that transformation on stage is magical for Cinderella herself, actor Jenny LeDoux. She says, “Interacting off of that, I mean, I still feel a little girl in me just like, ‘my gosh, she’s here, my fairy godmother’s here.’ She just captures that switch so beautifully.”
