Stoked for Snow: Gearing up for the Slopes

Gearing up for the Slopes with equipment you will need

Meteorologist Lea Zmurko is 'Stoked For Snow' and went out to see what equipment works best for Northland hills.

With many ski hills ready to open for the season it is important to make sure you are properly outfitted from head to toe. Ski Hut is a one stop shop for all you winter outdoor gear needs.

As you are getting ready it is important to make sure your layers and equipment will be comfortable and insulating as you head out into the elements for a long day of fun.

“The most important thing is definitely gonna be your boots.” Krista Holden is one of the team members there and shares her knowledge on snowboard boot fittings, “we want our toe to be just brushing against the end of the boot.”

The team at Ski Hut can also recommend different styles and types depending on what kind of terrain and skill levels different riders or skiers are interested in.

Dave Neustel shared more about the skis they have in-store that are well suited for the mountains found here in our own backyard. “In the Midwest what we have is flatter terrain as well as harder snow and so we’re looking for skis that have a lot of edge grip gives us control on that ice and are really easy to turn. Because The shorter hills and the flatter terrain, you know, we want to get as many turns as we can get down the hill.”

Whether you are a beginner on the bunny slopes or have many winter seasons under your belt, Ski Hut is surely able to help get you ready to ride.
