A Tune up for our Turns this Winter

Local, news, weather, sports presented by the WDIO Morning News Team

As many are eager to get outside this winter, it is important to check our equipment to see if we are in need of a quick tune up. Ski Hut takes us into the tune shop where skis and boards are serviced all season long.

Krista Holden tells us what too look for as we dust off our boards and skis from last season, “Take a look at the base and if you’ve got like white. Kind of it looks really dry on the edges of the snowboard or skis and you’ll be able to tell it’ll look different It’s not going to show that like nice smooth graphic that’s on there. That means it’s definitely time to bring it in for a wax”

Sharp edges and a smooth base allow for the best runs on the hill, and the ski techs do a great job tailoring the tune to each ski and user based on skill, speed, and even the upcoming forecasts. The precision and consistency used makes them a reliable resources for the local ski industry.

If the formal tune up is not for you, they have all the basic tools and touch up gear available in store so that you can make sure your skis and snowboards are ready to ride from home.
