NorthRidge Community Credit Union proud to support free pantries
A helping hand looks like a little wooden cabinet at NorthRidge Community Credit Union.
They’ve set up free pantries outside of all five of their branches: Virginia, Ely, Biwabik, Hoyt Lakes, and Hibbing.
People can take what they need, and donate what they can.
Ashley Kjenaas, Marketing Coordinator for the credit union, came up with the idea after she heard a member was needing some help.
“I reached out to AEOA and they suggested this idea,” she explained.
President and CEO Nicholas Mathiowetz said, “Food shelves are stretched. They do an amazing job, but can only help so many people, and have so many hours. So we can give back a little more.”
Adam Gruba, a former board member, built the pantries.
