UMD football’s Garth Heikkinen stepping down as O-Line coach

On Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) announced that Garth Heikkinen is stepping down as Bulldog football’s offensive line coach.

A release from the school stated he is departing to pursue opportunities outside of football.

Heikkinen served as UMD’s offensive line coach since 2019. That season the Bulldogs offense averaged over 186 rushing yards and 34 points a game. In 2021, they helped UMD average of 176 rush yards and more than 32 points per game.

Before that he was a graduate assistant from 2013-2015, and played for UMD from 2008 to 2012.
