Dry conditions to continue

There is just not a whole lot of activity in the weather department these days. We occasionally see a shot of cold arctic air, but we just aren’t seeing any snowfall this year. Think about where we were at this time last year vs where we are now. Our snow depth was at 3” as of January 6th, 2024. This year we are currently sitting with a snow depth of 3”. Our total snowfall this year is 13.8” of snow. Last year at this time we had 11.9” of snow.

Looking into our crystal ball shows there isn’t much snow in the forecast. Mostly quiet and chilly weather is expected through Wednesday, with some episodes of sunshine. Lake Effect, South Shore light snow is expected tomorrow through Wednesday. Temperatures warm up Thursday into the weekend with light snow possible over much of the Northland, most of the snow once again looks to stay to the south through Wisconsin.
