Grand Rapids man captures ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ moose sighting
Jeremy Ehrhorn spends a lot of time on the road for his job delivering custom medical equipment, but he’s never seen anything like what he did on Monday.
Ehrhorn was on his way from Grand Rapids to International Falls when he drove through a clear cut and saw something that made him pull a U-turn: three bull moose.
“I’ve always wanted to see one bull in Minnesota. And yeah, to see three at once – I couldn’t believe it,” Ehrhorn said.
It was about 12 miles south of Big Falls in Koochiching County. He said they were grazing. He got out of his van – leaving the door open in case he needed to run back to it – and walked closer to capture photos and video.
“They didn’t care one bit that I was there. They were not intimidated whatsoever by me,” Ehrhron said. “They’re a beautiful animal. And they’re so big. I mean, the size of the animal is – the video doesn’t do it justice.”
It was a little nerve-wracking, but he joked that no one would have believed he had seen three bulls together had he not gotten proof.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime or once-in-many-lifetimes,” he said. “But just very cool.”
