Seven different skaters score for UWS in big win over Concordia Moorhead

Seven different skaters landed on the score sheet for the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s hockey team Friday night as they chopped down Concordia Moorhead 7-1 at Wessman Arena.

Trey Sauder scored first for the Yellowjackets halfway through the first period, then Reed Stark made it 2-0 with 39 seconds to intermission. In the second period, Collin Peterson and Blake Setter each tallied power play goals to double their lead to 4-0 after two. Then in the third, Gavin Rasmussen scored even-strength, and two UWS power play goals followed from Dusty Bergstrom and Daniel Rozsival for the 7-0 lead.

The Cobbers scored their lone goal in the final minute from Joe Harguindeguy on a power play.

In net, Kobe Grant made 30 saves for UWS, while the Cobbers’ Dane Couture made 26 saves and Brock Moroz made three.

UWS earns their seventh straight win improving to 11-3-1 overall. They return home Saturday to host Saint John’s University at 7:05pm.
