UMD men's basketball prevails late, women's falls

UMD men’s and women’s basketball split outcomes on Saturday, with the men’s team beating St. Cloud State 66-58, while the women fell 79-66.

On the men’s side, a high energy matchup was separated by just two points at halftime, but a push in the second half gave UMD the advantage. Charlie Katona and Joshua Brown were the Bulldogs lone double digit scorers, contributing 21 and 10 points respectively.

On the women’s side, Maria Counts led the team with 18 points, putting in great work in her 36 minutes of play. Myra Moorjani and Johanna Miller scored 13 and 11 respectively, but by the time the Bulldogs found their rhythm, time ran out.

Both teams will turn to face Bemidji State on January 17th.
