Gas prices are on the decline, but how long will that last?

It is time to gas up those vehicles again, but over the past several months, people have some a bit of relief at the pumps.

“I think they are better prices than they were before. Still, not a great price compared to what they were maybe a few months ago or even a few years ago,” says Jackson Graber.

According to AAA, the national average for regular gas is now $3.79 a gallon.

Even with a decrease in prices, when it comes to traveling, some people weigh out their options on which is better for them…driving or flying?

For Duluth resident Rob Moss, it is all about what works for each person, “the key is the distance, of course, how far they got to go, and how much time they have it. You have to weigh all those things out to determine what you want to do.”

On the other hand, Jalen Reynolds thinks that taking one option over the other one could be more beneficial, “driving is going to be more efficient, especially on a short trip. You know, it is hard to say. You are looking at shortages everywhere. It is staffing. So, you get to take a plane, and you are going to run the risk of being bombed or not having a flight home.”

As the fall and winter months will be approaching, WDIO wanted to know if people think gas prices will increase or decrease, and surprisingly, some of the responses were about the same.

“It may decrease a bit in the beginning, but I forecast the increase,” Reynolds stated. Graber shares that it could be a slight price drop. “I have probably a steady rate. Maybe in a little bit, they might go down a little bit, but. Not too much.

“They will probably go down a little bit because there is going to be less demand. So whenever the demand decreases, the prices decrease,” said Moss.
