Prep Boys Hockey: Rock Ridge extends unbeaten streak to 16, Duluth Marshall rolls past Proctor
In prep boys hockey action Tuesday, Rock Ridge defeated Duluth East 5-1, while Duluth Marshall downed Proctor 5-2.
Rock Ridge’s 5-1 win over Duluth East at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center extended their unbeaten streak to 16 games. The Wolverines led 1-0 after the first and 2-1 after the second. Grady Dimberio had two goals and one assist for Rock Ridge, while Cal Scott added one goal and three assists. Timothy Balthazor scored the sole goal for Duluth East. Nolan Nygaard made 30 saves in net for the Greyhounds, while Wyatt Jonassen made 18 for the Wolverines.
Rock Ridge improves to 18-3-2 and next visits Pine City Area Saturday, February 8 at 7 p.m. Duluth East (2-21) next visits Roseau Friday, Feb. 7 at 7p.m.
Duluth Marshall topped Proctor 5-2 at Mars Lakeview Arena to improve to 11-8-2. Rilo Heydt scored first for the Hilltoppers, helping them to a 2-0 lead after the first. Late in the second, Tanner Ross put Proctor on the board to trail 4-1.
The Hilltoppers (11-8-2) next host Duluth Denfeld Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. Proctor (12-10-1) next visits North Shore Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.
