AEOA searching for volunteers to help them deliver meals to homebound seniors

The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) is looking for volunteers to help them deliver food to homebound seniors this winter season.

The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) is looking for volunteers to help them deliver food to homebound seniors this winter season.

The AEOA delivers hot fresh meals to senior’s homes in seven different counties. All together they serve around 4,00 hot meals every month.

But it’s not just about getting a hot fresh meal, it’s also about getting peace of mind.

“The seniors really appreciate people coming and seeing them every day,” said Aubrey Zgonce, program specialist. “Family as well, having that peace of mind of knowing that there is someone checking on their loved one, making sure that they’re okay every day.”

Volunteers pick up meals at the Duluth kitchen on West 3rd St. and deliver them to homebound seniors in the area.

They tell us it only takes between 1 and 2 hours from pickup to finish, and volunteers can take on as much work as they want.

If you would like to get involved, you can get in touch with the AEOA at (218) 727-4321
