One killed in Cass County snowmobile crash

Authorities from the Cass County Sheriff’s office have reported the death of a 50-year-old in a snowmobile crash on the night of February 14.

According the the report, police responded to a call of a snowmobile crash in Turtle Lake Township in rural Walker, Minnesota. First responders there found a 50-year-old man from Texas has been riding a snowmobile when it left the road and struck a snow embankment and trees along side a snowmobile trail.

The victim was taken to the hospital in Park Rapids where he was pronounced dead. The Sheriff’s office suspects alcohol to be a factor in the accident, and the crash remains under investigation.

The Cass County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Walker Police Department, and North Memorial Ambulance.
